Austin Audio Cooperative was formed in 2012 by friends who met while participating in Occupy Austin and other local activist communities. Their shared interest in audio, videography, music, and event production led to such memorable events as the Party Wagon (a flash mob moving dance party), Occupy Southby (a series of free musical and education events during SXSW at several locations around Austin, including an outdoor/indoor event with Tom Morello which packed the streets with fans and ended in being shut down by police), ROOTSAPALOOZA, Open Stage @ ROOTS, and Revolution in the Park.
In recent years, some of our work includes:
High definition video projection, 24′ screen, and sound for the critically acclaimed Cinema East outdoor film series.
This crew, and their collective experience and equipment, has also helped with rallies and speaking engagements by GetEqualTX, Occupy Austin, Texans United to Amend, May Day Coalition, Occupy AISD, Million Musicians March for Peace, and many more.
We’ve provided audiovisual services for dozens of events and helped to entertain, educate, and enlighten thousands of Austinites. Austin Audio Cooperative is an ethical worker-owned cooperative, which strives to help create memorable, affordable, and eco-friendly, events. Our team is flexible, imaginative, and experienced.
Whether you need a DJ, sound guy, video projection, or sound system for indoor or outdoor events, or complete production of your event, the Austin Audio Cooperative team can help. We’ve supported musical acts, political speakers, poets, open mic nights, walk-in movie nights, and we can help you make your event exciting and memorable and free you from the stress of figuring out the audiovisual details.
